While all refined and enlightened persons
are politely discussing cultivated issues,
are discoursing on moral concepts,
are interpreting legal justice,
are speculating on rightful privileges,
are considering form and function,
are comparing ways and means,
are contrasting methods and modes,
are scrutinizing alternatives,
are arguing about indulgent denial,
are elucidating respectful intolerance,
are critiquing doctrinaire learning,
are contemplating faithful beliefs,
their mannerly civilization is being
heedlessly wrecked all around them!
Barbaric savages have no intention of engaging their victims
in courteous conversation or any other disingenuous dialogues!
The only time to be reasonable is before or after the blood flows
... proffering a disquisition to someone holding a weapon
is a waste of breath!

What people don't know and cannot understand
about citizenship is that individuals do not define
their rights and privileges, their duties and obligations,
their freedoms and liberty, or even their faith
... and it's because they cannot define it that
it defines them!
Our heritage empowers us only if we empower it.
Citizenship is not a gift, and
civilization is not an accident.
